We don't become the beauty we see. The beauty we see is a mirror of the beauty we are. Beauty only helps us see that part of ourselves.

We already are surrounded in beauty, I don't just mean nature. People have a core of beauty, a true soul expression. If we were to see our own expression and the expression of all others, there would be no need for judgement or strife. We would see, truly and know that we are also truly seen.

Aloha GG,

I'm guessing your question is purposely abstract? I will assume you are referring not to external beauty but inner beauty: kindness, creativity and intelligence.

"We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are
— Old Talmudic saying

This means that what you are seeing and describing around you is part of you. So if you are surrounded by beauty, e.g. kindness, creativity, and love, then that implies that a part of you must share these attributes as well.

Aristotle said, "we are what we repeatedly do." This means essentially that we are our actions. If you want to become more beautiful (whether inner or outer beauty), then start acting more kind, and loving and you will radiate beauty and attract others that value that trait. As Ovid said, "To be loved, be lovable."

I really like your question. Surrounding myself with beauty always improves my state of mind. It could be something as simple as adding a dozen roses to the dining room table.
