Some Catholics DO practice witchcraft, dear. Please ignore those who are confusing it with being Wiccan. Witchcraft is an ancient practice and it does not keep one from being involved in any Christian faith.

Well that really depends on who you ask and where you are at. Countries like Jamaica and others in the Caribbean are over all a catholic country but they study and practice voo doo a kind of what some say as witch craft. Then in the mostly southern united states some catholics study and practice something called hoo doo something also kind of like witch craft. Then on top of all of that there are some reports that certain priest and popes now dead had kept a grimoir or a book spells. So in reply to your question yes some catholics practices not necessarily witch craft but a form of spell casting and some do not. You also have to keep in mind though that a lot of catholics believe that no matter what you do as long as you go to confession and get forgiven of your sins it is considered to not have sined at all. This is not just a word of mouth thing either I know quite a few spell casting catholics of the few spell casting groups listed above.

That question has several different answers:

The Official Party Line says that Catholics are not to use any kind of faith vehicle outside of what is proscribed for them. Anything else is sin. They will sight bible verses at you until they turn blue.

The Historical Facts indicate that mysticism (often confused with witchcraft) is in fact the bases of Christianity and that Christ was definately a mystic. If you point this out they will turn off their ears.

The Truth is that some people add different spiritual tools to their overall path. In their eyes, it doesn't make them less of a Catholic, because their focus is still on the Trinity and on Salvation through the sacraments
