No. The travesty is that it wasn't Asian women binding their own feet, they bound the feet of their daughters so their feet would never get too large to fit into a certain size shoe. Small feet were considered alluring, and women with "big" (normal size) feet were shunned.
The men encouraged this because the binding caused so much pain in the women's feet it caused them to walk in such a way that their vaginas tightened up - the men bragged that every night with their wife was just like the first time.

No, foot-binding in China stopped in the early 20th century. Foot-binding does not stop the foot from growing, it just forces it to grow in a weird way. If you look at pictures they're quite grotesque - though it was considered beautiful, it was more of a way to control women.

I hope so!!! They were no functional! The shoes they wore were cute.....but the feet weren't.
