wild dogs feed their offspring by vomiting..
after adult dogs reach home after good meal.. junior dogs lick their faces to make them vomit.. so they can eat that stuff...
maybe dog is hungry when he lick his owner..

I think it's to do with the salt on our skin. Licking can also be affectionate though. It's a 'caring' thing for dogs to do. They lick each other to care for each other and i think that they also lick us to care for us. My dog often licks my legs when i come out of the shower. I think he's trying to dry me as for dogs, sometimes being wet can be worrying as being wet can make them ill.

Well, dogs are pack animals which means they're accustomed to being part of a family group. Most owners are alpha members of the pack to dogs and so to show their submissiveness they lick you. So, yes they do it because they 'love' you.

Is because of the salt in your sweat...But they may lick your face as kisses especially if your making 'mwah' kissy noises!

i think it is. there licks are kisses, either that or they're hungry and you smell like food :]
but if it lickes u alot i suggest goin to ur local pet store and buying sum doggie mints that way u dont smell

Of course, how else are they going to show there love. I always tell people that I would rather my dog be a licker than a biter!

don't get me incorrect, i admire my canines. yet i do no longer enable them to lick my lips or the interior of my mouth. i do no longer fancy the assumption of having a canines tongue that they use to bathe their bits and products on or in my mouth. i do no longer concepts the occasional chin or cheek lick, yet it is it.

licking is a part of thier senses..my dogs lick a lot they are little dogs..foxi type...but i dont like it cause they lick there bottoms with their tongues..
