My friend and I were over his house washing our cars and he said the hose water is very hard and has lots of minerals in the water. Hes washed his car a few times using that water and said everytime he washes his car it leaves the car, including the car windows, white and cloudy. I washed mine for the first time using that water and didnt leave it white and cloudy. Is this really the water causing this "Cloudy" appearance? Is there anything to do to prevent it or any product/cleaner that will get rid of it? Thanks.

Mr Clean has a hose end filter that will let your car dry spot free, but if you wipe off the water with a California blade or an all cotton towel you wont have a problem either. Its the minerals in the water, hard water will usually have some dissolved calcium, as the water evaporates it will leave the calcium behind in a form of a whitish gray spot. Hard water will not scratch your car, milk is loaded with calcium yet you feel no grit when you are drinking it.

Best to get a Mr Clean Autodry car wash system or install a good water filter on the hose or piping that you use to wash the car with...hard water will leave behind mineral deposits that can leave water spots or a film on the car if not dried or wiped off right away.

If there's grit in the tap water that is just as good as taking a piece of sand paper to your car. Plus, the same tap water is probably used at all the local car washes. You should go to the store and get Aquafina or Dasani and wash your car with that instead, it's been purified so there's no grit. You could also try washing your car in the rain, there wouldn't be any ground minerals in rain water.

I would suggest the best way is to get a water filter and try to wipe your car when it is went itself .Dont let the water dry and make any kind of marks. You shud have three clothes to wipe the car.the first one shud suck al of the water..even chamious leather will do a great job.theh second one will completely take away all the water and third shud be a polishing cloth like micro fiber.then your car will glitter like a jewel
