There are a lot of reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy. Some of them are benign and others are a sign of a problem, such as miscarriage. You should always contact you doctor just in case.
Bleeding could be due to implantation, old blood working itself out of your system, sexual intercourse, an internal exam or your body adjusting to pregnancy.
My sister-in-law bled throughout her pregnancy and had a healthy baby. I twice started bleeding in early pregnancy (at 10 and 6 weeks) and I miscarried both times.
Whenever you have questions about your health or that of your baby in pregnancy, you need to consult a doctor. Until you see a doctor you should try to rest and stay off your feet as much as possible. Unless you start bleeding as heavy as a period, it is okay for you to wait until you see the doctor -- otherwise go directly to the emergency room.
Unfortunately at this early stage in a pregnancy if you are going to miscarry there is very little that can be done to stop it -- so seeing a doctor right away is unlikely to change the outcome, although it might give you some peace of mind. Remember though an internal exam may cause bleeding, which could lead to more worry.
I wish you a lot of luck.

You can bleed throughout a pregnancy and it be ok. Sometimes though there is a problem. When I was 3 months pregnant with my daughter, things had been fine all that day, and then that evening my husband and I were laying in bed and I felt this gush come out of me. He got up and turned on the light, and there was a lot of blood everywhere. He rushed me to the ER, they did an ultrasound, and a pelvic exam. She was doing ok. They did find however that the placenta was starting to tear away from the wall. I ended up being put on bed rest for almost the rest of the pregnancy and had a lot of bleeding off and on, and lots of difficulties. I ended up having her a month and a half early. But she is fine now, she will be turning 7 in October. Definitely call your doctor though to see what they think.

I'm in the same boat, also with cramps and other 'period pains'. Went to see my Dr today on an emergency appt, she did a preg test and said the hcg levels were still quite high. Have to see my normal Dr tomorrow to get an emergency scan at the hospital to see what's going on. Fingers crossed - you read a lot about some women bleeding and being ok and having healthy happy babies, you also read about some women m/c dozen's of times. The doctor said pregnancy is one long waiting game. Relax if can, phone you Dr and try to get a scan to see what's going on. Good luck. :-)

It very well could be the case. Most often that is the case, however you may just be experiencing some breakthru bleeding and need to keep your feet up for a few days. Call your doctor, they can do an ultrasound to see if you are still pregnant or not.

I think one of the signs is if it is clotted blood, and you are also cramping. As everyone has already said you should get check out, but try not to be too stressed, it will only make things worse.
It can be normal to bleed during pregnancy but no one can tell you for sure except your DR.
And be kind to yourself, and see what support you need for either situation!
Good luck!

It's possible, but it depends on how much bleeding you have done, and did/do you have a lot of cramping? You can go to your doctor and they would do a hormone test and/or ultrasound to see if fetus is intact and viable. Good luck, I wish you well.
