The negative opinion that a vast majority of AMericans have about the media is most likely well deserved. The media is consistently anti-American in its reporting. I have often wondered why that was and what is the objective of twisting the public opinion. I have my opinions obviously but found a couple of articles that seem to shed some new light for me on the subject.

why should we post links to supporting information when no one apparently reads them? Does everyone already know all there is about everything?

Not really, I have formed my own opinion and ways of judging what I hear. I am probably more influenced by people whose opinions I trust and what I research out on my own. To take the media's word for everything is just plain foolish. During the Vietnam war the news reports were very distorted according to some who were there and saw what the reporters doing; making up whatever and then attaching people's name to it. I wish everyone could hear about that! Beause I can guarantee you that you won't hear about it on the news.

I try to get my news from several different sources. That way it is somewhat balanced. No one media source impacts my political opinion. They are all bias in one way or another. You have to be able to dig for the truth or read between the lines. The most upsetting thing about the war and the media is when they do their "polling" they are not doing it in a strictly non biased way. They are going by who the people are, age, race, etc..., I know, duh, anyone will know that. But, why are people believing this information? I don't know.

I think they are selling an America with no borders, no defense, no military, no pride in country, no rules, no churches,no tight knit families, no morality, no guns, no cars, no tree cutting, no oil and no hard working people or people that build business's...
but they want money via taxes, so that animals can roam free, people can be vegetarians, drugs available at any time with no penalities, everyone allowed to be on welfare/food stamps on demand, wandering aimlessly so we can be taken over by the first foreign power that crosses the ocean/or migrates north.
Most of the media lives in a NYC/Los Angeles PC haze.

I've seen enough lies, manipulation and untruths out of the media that I use them for basic information like weather, scores, comics, and the movie guide. The get more wrong than they do right even when they are trying to print the facts correct. Just look at the Yahoo news. They are perfect examples of the spin machine.

The media doesn't impact my views at all! I stick by what I believe in but I know many many people are being led astray by the propoganda the media spews out! I really believe there is a lot of big liberal money financing them and it's responsible I believe for the lack of morale in our country! Thank-you for the links, they said it all!

Where is good old fashioned reporting? Papers around the country only repeat what the NYT or associated press report. They are very much anti war and their reporting shows it. Your links are very clear on how they hope to shape our country -- I think they have a monopoly on the news.

No, the media has no effect on my opinion. The only thing they're selling is advertising space and commercial slots.
