Go to START - Control Panel - then click on Power Options - This screen will then at the bottom have "Turn off Monitor, Hard drive, and standby", set to NEVER. Then go across top tabs to Hibernate and uncheck "Enable Hibernation" box.

Right click on the desktop (anywhere on the background). Click on properties. Then go to the Screen Saver tab. Click on the button that says "power". From there, turn the setting by hibernate to "never". This is all for a Windows XP OS.

Well, the screen saver uses ENORMOUS amounts of processor power, and actually should never be used! Your computer works harder generating a screen saver than almost anything else! I use a "blank screen" for a screen saver, because it usues no processor power at all. You would be *AMAZED* how hard your computer has to work to make those things work! (You can see I'm right by watching what happens when you are running the Windows Task Manager, to see the "performance". It is usually maxed out when a screen saver is used! :O

~Cindy! :)

P.S. Yeah, they look pretty, but is it worth it??? How often do you watch it for an extended period of time, yet the processor has to work really hard to generate it all the time! :O
