To the person who called him an extremist so I guess the constitution is an extreme document. I dont support Paul at the moment but it is undeniable he is very much a constitutionalist and does appeal to both left and right. Unless your a dyed in the wool neocon or a socialist

I believe he is.
The good Dr. scares the hell out of the establishment as he knows the truth and speaks it. He also defends and supports our constitution and this can't be allowed as it interferes with the CFR's one world government plans. As he becomes even more popular expect massive media smears to come out. These can't really be based on fact so will make him look like a nut. The old don't attack the data but assassinate the character of those speaking the truth. This tried and proven method of fighting the truth will be used extensively but any thinking person can see right through it! Therein lays the problem, most of the population doesn't think! They let the talking heads on the tube do their thinking for them. This can be seen in the support the "global warming" scam is getting. It is scary how many so called intelligent people fall for this and shows how powerful the Murdock/multinational media really is.
The good Dr. needs and deserves our support.
Nicole, thank you for supporting him with this question, as a true thinking person I knew you would come around eventually!
Dr. Ron Paul for president 2008.

Ron Paul is incredibly the authentic Maverick, as is Kucinich is for the Democratic social gathering. Electing Obama/MCcain would convey forth some exchange (of course i think of obama will supply the main exchange), yet electing Paul or Kucinich would be at once up innovative. even although they stand on oppossite facets of the fence, the two would whip u . s . into shape genuine rapid. in basic terms look at Ron Paul's balloting checklist. It fits his ideals and platform precisely. No different candidate, would desire to probably ever make that declare. He replaced into the only one that stated the linked fee of the dollar, the only one that stated the difficulty with African human beings being in penal complex, the only candidate that incredibly gave substance in the time of the republican primaries, raised his money by small doners, and incredibly won each debate he participated in. i'm a die tricky Obama supporter, yet i'm a registered autonomous. Had the Republicans positioned "Ron P (thats the cool nickname i provide him)" on their fee ticket, i'd be swayable. perchance in 2012!!!!

He has universal appeal because he is something no one has seen in decades if not a century.

A politician with integrity and a man that not only talks the talk but walks the walk.

I don't agree with him on all counts but he sure is the one to get America back to the constitution and the rule of law.

Then we can have a chance of solving the other important issues that face us.

He is the only candidate worth voting for.

The way he is energizing and involving the youth of America is nothing but astounding!!! I think this election will have the highest 18 to 25 voter turn out that the country has ever seen and he also has support from all age groups and socio-economic classes, especially the middle classes.

As any student of history knows the middle classes are the foundation of democracy in any country or era.

Long live Ron Paul and liberty and freedom for all!

In the end I don't believe he will appeal with both sides. I believe that he is appealing some people because of his honesty and wit, and his views on the Iraqi war, however if he's elected people will realize that he's a true republican and some of the things he stands for will definitely disagree with democrats. Of course he's going to cut taxes, but he wants to restructure the entire taxing system including ridding of the IRS which is definitely revolutionary. However in these times, I believe that we don't need a mediocre or even a good president we need a great president. Someone that will be as revolutionary as FDR, of JFK. Anyway along with cutting taxes Paul is going to cut government spending which will cease the funding of alot of government programs including education in which he said himself he'd cut some funding of education. However Paul focuses on the liberty of the people in his perfect world the people would solve their own problems rather than having the government trying to fix and solve the needs of individual American. This can be both a good thing and a bad one as well.

Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.

Ron Paul can stand solidly on his record. That alone makes him stand out amongst all candidates. Paul is also the only anti-war Republican.

But it will be a hard road to win against the media's Rudy McRomneyson hype.

Ron Paul is too radical. He would never get anything done. Although I believe some of his thoughts, he is promising what he ABSOLUTELY could not deliver.

You cannot turn a battleship on a dime. I think Ron Paul should start a political party and put some of his ideas as the long term party platform. That could get some changes done.

Ron Paul is the conservative candidate. He is the only real conservative on the Republican ticket and appears to be the only candidate that holds truely conservative views.

No. He's the type of guy that inspires respect because he has strong convictions, but the double edged sword of that is you can't help but be afraid that he's going to go overboard and do things based on his sometimes extreme ideology rather than what is pragmatic. He has appeal in as much as he is admirable, but not to actually vote for.

I'd say the opposite. Libertarians alienate conservatives with their social policies, and alienate liberals with their economic policies.

I don't know too many libertarians, so I don't think the guy has a chance.

EDIT - John McCain used to be a true maverick, but unfortunately he has gone completely bats--t insane as of late.
