Apartently it is a battle between J.Anderson & S.broad for the last bowling place.
but of coarse if Harmision dosent recover in time with his hernia they will both be in.

Joe W and VersaceVillian, you seem to misunderstand. They are not competing for the last bowling place, the are competing for Harmison's spot if he does not play.

There is no chance that they will both play, unless another bowler gets injured in the next two days.

Harmison will not play because of his hernia, I think that they'll give Broad a chance. The bowlers will be Hoggard, Sidebottom, Broad and Panesar

James Anderson

Broad, he bowled really well against India for the England Lions (i think he took 5 wickets) and also he knows how to hold a bat unlike Jimmy Anderson. I think his extra bounce will be a useful weapon against the Indian batsmen particularly Sachin Tendulkar who hasn't been playing the short ball very well of late.

Neither Broad nor Anderson , I would pick Graham Onions of durham he has consistently performed in the county circuit and england A's he has been calling up for selection and a well earned test cap

If Harmison is fit then i would like to go with James Anderson. He is a wicket taker & that's it. He has good pace, can swing the ball well specially the outswing which i think will be quite a weapon against the formidable Indian batting line up.

Broad, Anderson slightly quicker version of Hoggard and Broad offers a better batting option.

I think if there is a tusslebetween Anderson and Broad for inclusion in the first test, the choice will go to Anderson

I have a feeling Harmi won't be playing - so that means both of them are in. But if it does come down to Broad vs Anderson - Anderson definately........

Jimmy Anderson is a seasoned campaigner. Think the choice should go to him when you take into account the Indian batting line up who can have a field day when conditions suit them.

Sadly for Mr Broad, the selectors plumped for Anderson & Tremlett....
