I had swollen ankles and feet on all 3 of my children. I always contacted the midwife, i felt like i was wasting her time but she said you can never be too careful. As it was i was ok nothing major but just let the midwife know. If nothing else she will put you mind at ease and you can carry on with the pregnancy. Good luck to you.

My second pregnancy did that to me... I can't stress enough just how swollen they were... feet, legs, hands even face... chances are your doctor will watch your protien (the urin sample they take every visit) and watch your Bloop Pressure closely to rule out pre-eclampsia. A great fix for the swelling I found was to drinke pineapple juice. Drink about 6-8 oz of it at least once a day. You will start ridding of the water in no time. Another fix is hot lemonade. Both drinks will cause you to pee more to get rid of the excess water. You will feel much better!

I just had a baby and I was swollen from about 20 weeks on. The heat seemed to be my worst enemy. I also worked on my feet for 8 hours. If I were you I would stay off my feet as much as possible. It's only gonna get worse. Talk to your doc about it too. Stay away from salt and drink plenty of water.

This happened to me in my second pregnancy. Make sure you keep an eye on your blood pressure.
It could be that you would benefit from lympathic drainage massage. This isn't at all scary. It is mega gentle. Your midwife should be able to advise you and your partner how to do it. I found it really helpful.
It's important to keep moving about though and not sit with cushions under the calfs of your legs because that could lead to deep vein thrombosis.
It is wierd when you suddenly don't fit your shoes! A perhaps obvious but if you haven't thought about it useful idea is to wear suportive trainers because you can adjust their tightness.
Good luck and hope you enjoy your pregancy.

Probably water retention and possibly because of the heat as well ( if you live somewhere where it has been hot). Drink lots of water, reduce your sodium intake and take time to elevate your feet a few times a day.

I never had it till the end of my pregnancy but I think it has alot to do with the heat. Stay away from sodium drink lots of water and prop your feet up as much as possible, if you work and have to sit get something to prop your feet up as much as possible. Make sure you tell your dr as soon as possible.

I'm 29 weeks and haven't had swollen feet or ankles. Then again I'm not on my feet a lot.

Could be the heat but then again it could be pre-e. I would talk to your doctor about it if it doesn't get better with elevation or soaking them in cool water.
