its actually

Solve: Log X^2 = 6

2007-07-15 08:29:46 · update #1

8 answers

log(x^2) = 6
x^2 = 10^6
x = ±(10^6)^(1/2) = ±(10^3) = ±1000

Don't forget the plus/minus! There are technically two answers to this problem!

Hope this helps!

Let log mean log to base 10 in the following:-
log x² = 6
2 log x = 6
log x = 3
x = 10³
x = 1000

LOGx^2=6
so 10^6=x^2
or x^2=10^6
or x=+-(10)^6/2=+-10^3=+-1000 ans

2007-07-15 08:52:13 · answer #3 · answered by MAHAANIM07 4 · 0 0

log x^2 = 6

change to exponent form
10^6 = x^2
x^2 = 1,000,000

x = +/- 1000

but -1000 won't work, so +1000 is the answer

log(base k)(x^2) = 6
x^2 = k^6
x = +/-k^3 where k is he base of the log.

log(x^2)=6
2log x=6
log x=6/2=3
log x=3
log 10^3=3log10 here log10=1 so, x=10^3=1000
