When did you stop believing in Santa Claus? How did you tell your parents and how long did it take you to tell them?

I don't remember exactly how old I was but I just started putting two and two together. And then one year my mom turned to me and asked: "Do you still believe in Santa?" I replied with a nah. and she said "Good, now I don't have to wrap presents at three in the morning anymore."
I also found out my dad use to eat the cookies and take down half the milk. He wasn't even a big cookie eater so I appreciate him for that.
I do remember though when I was little, peeking out of my room, because I could see our tree down the hallway. I'd take a look periodically through the night, cause like most kids I couldn't sleep christmas eve.
And there'd be no gifts one moment and then suddenly there was, I don't know how my parents did it, but it was so awesome when I was a kid. Then I'd creep so painstakingly slowly down the hall as to not wake anyone up and go and look at the gifts under the tree, itching to unwrap them. Then creep back to bed for a few more restless hours till morning.

It was the year my mother took the doll my Dad got me in Italy away. I don't remember what I did to piss her off, she put the doll in the closet & I never saw it again. Dad was in the Navy, & I used to hope he would go back & get me another one. He never did. Santa didn't replace it that Christmas. I quit believing in Santa & mothers that same year. I was 7 years old. I never bothered telling them. There was no point.

In our house, if you don't believe in Santa, you don't get any presents. There is no harm in believeing in a spirit of pure goodness. Maybe if more people were to believe in him, the world would be a happier place.

The Elf of Yule lives in many hearts. Though I was told some facts it became one of my dreams to follow in the Elf's tradition. Each Yule I travel through three states, donning full regalia believing I represent the Elf to a new generation.

I was about 9.. I saw my dad hiding a present but didn´t tell my parents that day, because i didn´t want to ruin christmas or ruin the magic for my brother and sister who were much younger at the time..

Take care..
