I was born with club feet, and although they were straightened out when I was a baby, it does still affect me because my bones aren't quite straight, and my kneecaps are in an odd place, so it affects my motion all the way up through my hips and spine. It doesn't really show, but it does cause me pain and limits my physical capabilities. I have never been able to jog/run/hike, and the increasing weakness as I get older (I am now 40) makes it difficult for me to even do something as simple as get up or down the stairs. In a society that prizes physical activity and athleticism, it has always been difficult for me because of these limitations. Both my brother and sister were athletic, and I usually spent my time inside reading when I was a child. So, I am very intelligent, but never had the chance to run, or ride a bike much or do many things that most people take for granted.

It used to bother me when I was younger. I would dream of just being able to run and run and run, with no pain or shortness of breath. I tried, but couldn't pass classes in roller skating, swimming or even ballet because my legs didn't bend the same way as everyone else's. Now that I am older, exercise is an important issue, and about all I can do safely is walk, provided that I wear very good shoes, or maybe swim (but I would have to learn how).

At this point in my life, I have no regrets, and have accepted it as just a difference unique to who I am, and a contributing factor to who I have become. And, I really like that person. I believe that it has made me more aware of people's differences, and more compassionate and respectful of the challenges of others.

We all have our own challenges, after all, not all of them are visible. :)

And, as far as society and its demands for perfectionism, I have learned in my life that the people who think like that are not people I want for my friends. I want to be accepted for who I am, and I have plenty of friends that do. I spent a lot of time depressed when I was younger, but now I realize that it is just not that important to someone who truly appreciates you for the person you are, not the person somebody else thinks that everyone should be.

They can tell you anything they want. What you do is you. What you think is you. The way you behave is you. Never let society dictate to you about you. You are the only one that lives in your skin. Don't let those dooms day people get under your skin. For myself, I enjoy down dressing sometimes and walking through the depraved parts of town talking to some very different people. I don't recommend this to anyone unless you have a purpose, the expertise and know how to get along there, how to survive and how to get out of a bad situation. It has served my purposes many times and I've made a few friends that are happy to see me when I show up. Nobody tells me I have to be perfect and beautiful anymore because they know I'm not interested in a petty show If they don't like me for who I am. But if you are still under the care of your family it is best to grin and bear with it because that is another story, a waiting game until you are on your own.

You must be talking about cat people - you did say they were purfect..... twice. Honestly, you love using some really long words in your questions but you won't take the trouble to use a dictionary to check some of your atrocious spelling - I mean, that way at least you would be furthering your education whilst you're whiling the hours away on here.

Are we looking at the same society? To say that everyone is perfect and beautiful in it is far from the mark. I see more flaws in the people around me then there are stars in the heaven. The people you think are beautiful are only in movies. The average Joe is flawed and have short comings. If the world was perfect then there would be few people in it.
