In India minimum age for consuming & purchasing alcohol is 25 years.

India doesn't have any age limits for purchasing alcohol although the INC party members want a new law with the age limit being 14.

In India, theory says it is 18 years for a male member.
In practise, any age (i.e., walking-age). You can have alcohol for consumption.
Basis or Logic : 2-year baby put behind the bars overnight for 'trying to snatch weapon from the Police and also attack. This was completely in violation of IPC 82

if unoffcially - from the mothers womb to Shamshan - An expecting mother does buy n consume - ask the one still unborn.
Poeople still drink in the Shamshans , Marghats - ask those who recently departed .
