My great-grandfather worked at the "Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company" in Georgia during the 1950's and 60's.

I do not know when he worked their exactly, or any other information. I was told about it from my grandmother, and she was wanting me to look up more information about it.

She was only a small child when her father worked there. He died in the early 1970's due to cancer which is to believed to be caused by his position at the aforementioned company.

So, any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Tony S.

This company made inorganic chemical fertilizers for the tobacco industry and has been sliced and diced many times through mergers and acquisitions. Likely the only thing left is a product line here or there. Your Grandpa may or may not have contracted cancer through chemical exposure. Thirty years later you will not be able to prove it in a court of law. Besides that, the Statue of Limitations has run out on any legal action you may be contemplating taking and even if it hadn't you, as a grandson, probably have no standing to take legal action.

My apologies if I am reading something into your question that is not there. Have you asked if your grandfather smoked?

Mobile Oil bought them in 1963. And Mobile merged with Exxon several years later. The best best would be to contact ExxonMobile.
