Golf courses feature sand, grass, trees, water, etc. What is missing? Stones or pavement to make the ball bounce farther.
It would be even wilder to erect statues of previous winners of the tournament, but that would be too wild, and ricochet balls out of bounds.
But you could have a plateau, with a rock face, that will send your ball back toward you if you don't clear the lip of the ledge.
A flat rock (even with the ground) might be a help for a very long hole, if you happen to hit it.
A rock that sticks up from the grass would be a severe hazard.
