Please do not take anything or ingest (eat, drink, etc) anything to induce labor. The most you can do is walk a little more and wait patiently.
Call your doctor and talk to him or her if you are uncomfortable and anxious for your baby to arrive. Okay?
If anyone suggests something for you to take to induce labor, please don't take the advice off Yahoo Answers when it comes to you and your baby's health. CALL YOUR DOCTOR.
Good luck and congratulations!

First, do not take a hot bath. The hot temperature is not good for the baby, who has already elevated your body temperature. Primrose oil should come in a gel capsule. You can take the gel capsule and squeeze the oil around the opening of the vagina. This will help to soften your cervix. The best you can do is stay active and hopefully the baby will start to move down the canal.
In the end, it's up to that little person when he/she decides to make their entrance.
Good Luck and Congrats!

im not sure on the primrose oil; do NOT ever ever use castor oil. that will do more damage than good, and likely end with you on the toilet for hours. other things you can try though, sex (orgasm), nipple stimulation, fresh pineapple, walking, bumpy car ride (most say it doesnt work, but i know a few, and myself, this worked in 5 mins!) foot massage (pressure points behind the ankles can onset labor). good luck!!

You really should just let nature take its course. You may feel ready but labor is actually stimulated by a hormone that the baby produces when the lungs are fully mature. If your dr disagrees and hasn't induced you, you are not ready!

WIth my 3rd child my midwife told me to take Evening Primrose Oil capsuals they are sold by the vitamins/natural remedies in most stores I assume that is what you are looking for.
BUT she told me that they do not actually induce labor they just help to soften your cervix.

I would suggest not putting anything into your body that doesn't belong there to try and induce labor. Walk a lot. Have sex, if it's still possible. It's not proven that those things work, but it can't hurt. It'll happen sooner or later.

Please do not ingest any type of home remedy or something to induce labor. Try nipple stimulation or sex its a natural way to induce uterine contractions. Anything else like taking castor oil could cause problems...

I really think you should let nature take its course. I know toward the end, you just want the baby to come and the hugeness to go away. If you are really not feeling well or whatever the issue is, talk to your doctor. They often do scheduled inductions just for convenience. Good luck and God bless!!
