PCB is dead on with his answer. To expand on what he wrote, Arcee first appeared in "The Transformers: The Movie" (1986), the animated film based upon the original toy. She is perhaps the best known female Transformer. Indeed, she was going to be a part of the live-action film but the producers, bowing to fan pressure, decided to remove her from the script. Still, Hasbro released two toy versions of Arcee, both motorcycles, to coincide with the release of the live-action movie. See the links below.

Other female Transformers have appeared in the cartoons, comics and toys, most notably, Blackarachnia in "Transformers: Beast Wars." She was originally a Predacon in the animated series, but SilverBolt, a Maximal warrior, turned her. She later did the same for him in "Transformers: Beast Machines" after he had been reformatted into Jetstorm by Megatron.

I bet you didn't know that Optimus Prime even had a girlfriend. Her name was Elita One. She and her female comrades, Chromia, Firestar and Moonracer, appeared in an episode of the original animated Transformers series titled "The Search for Alpha Trion."

There have been other female Transformers, some released as toys. If you dig a little deeper into the Transformers mythology, you can find them. Seibertron.com is a good place to start. But your premise is wrong, there have been girl Transformers. You're just not up to speed on the toy and the background story that goes with it.

There is a female Transformer by the name of Arcee. I believe she was first seen in the 1986 Transformers animated movie. Arcee was initially set to be one of the Transformers in the recent Live Action movie Transformers. She was replaced with Ironhide due to numerous fan complaints.

Nope. You forgot the toys. The toys are what makes the Transformers the Transformers. But I must say that the toys based on the movie are rather disappointing. Too many carbon copies with different colors, and it gets a new name.

They don't reproduce sexually so they don't 'need' girl transformers.
