My 90 y.o. Granny, as stated in ny answer to your other Q.
no. i would not go two blocks before i took the wheel.
as much as i love her, she has no business driving.
anyone who feels that driving slowly equals safety, you're sorely mistaken.
in my rural, hilly locale i have to be wary of poky old drivers along with the deer and farm tractors. i find them an unnecessary risk factor.

I operate a courier company and my best drivers are in there 70's. I would ride with all of them.

My grandma is 86 and still drives. I don't like riding with her, but I never have, even when she was like 40. She is a speed racer and blames everyone else when she's made the mistake. She's cute though and I love her dearly.

A. my fiancees grandmother 86

then my grandmother 81 (louisiana)

B. she never has driven a car before. she's been afraid to drive. she's old school/southern living - lives in south carolina. her husband still drives and he drives a brand new ford 250, loaded! lol

i would ride with him. he drives fast. lol we couldn't keep up when following him. lol

my grandmother doesn't drive either. never has.

i am kinda opposed to seniors driving after a certain age or with aliments.

am i wrong for thinking so - i don't know.

i guess i got so fearful for my dad when he was sick. he had numerous fender benders and run off the lane accidents and i just didn't want him to harm himself or anyone else.

i lost my dad. he was 62. and i use to drive him whenever he wanted to go once his health really started to fail. (not from a car accident)

i miss him.

74, my moms, and she still has all of her faculties and wherewithalls. I would ride with her.

my uncle on the otherhand, he's 75 and his hearing is really getting bad, plus he drives too darn FAST. I'm like UNC, slow down! I won't ride with him unless I'm driving.

87 years old, my great-grandfather, he still drives and doesn't want to stop because he likes feeling independent.
no i would not feel safe driving with him, he's nearly blind and has massive glasses. i don't know why the government hasn't taken away his license yet.

75yo dad. he drives slowly and carefully, only to the places he's familiar with, and only during the day. though, i feel safe riding with him because he's aware of his limitations, it's frustrating because it's a bit slow.
