You are on the right track when you say that you are trying to impose limits on yourself and prepare for college. The difference between a college graduate and a college dropout is--- DISCIPLINE. Don't expect anyone to tell you what to study, how to study, or when to study for a test. College professors tend to assign homework but they do not usually grade it, or hound you to turn it in on time. College is a life-changing experience which demands hard work and perseverance.

This is not to discourage you, though. College is just like any other endeavor in life. You get out of it what you put in. Put your best foot forward. Decide ahead of time how much time you need to devote to your studies. Then, see how much time is left over for social activities, home life, hobbies, and the like. Prioritize what is most important to you after school. If music is primary to your life (which it seems like it is), decide how much time you want to spend on it. Stop after a certain time of day, so that you can get proper rest before classes. Other than that, enjoy yourself! Balance is the key.
Enjoy college. I know you will do well.

Go get a job at McDonald's. Expect that to be your life if you don't do well in college. You'll probably be ready for college after a few days of thinking about that.
