It is a tie between Terry Bradshaw and John Elway they were both wonderful quarterbacks. Also Marino and Peyton Manning are good ones two. Also Joe Montana was really good. However people think Tom Brady is one of the better one's true he did win a bunch of super bowls but if you look at his rating every year it is in the high 80's low 90's which is good but just doen't compare with other good quarterbacks around the league. So Tom Brady is a tad over rated and shouldn't really be on this list. However i do see him as a hall of famer but i don't see him as one of the greatest to play the game

This will hurt me to say this but the answer is.. Joe Montana.
John Elway will always be my favorite NFL player of all time. But Montana is still the answer.
Montana played the game with ice in his veins......Here is an example.
The 2nd time he played against the Bengals in the Superbowl, Boomer had just drove down the field in the 4th. Qtr and scored, putting the Bengals up with less than 2 minutes on the clock.
The 49er's and there fans were in disbelief. Montana walked into the huddle and everyone was nerves and scared. Montana said " Hey "..... isn't that John Candy sitting right there. The players in the huddle all smiled and laughed. Montana got them focused and them drove them down the field and won the Superbowl.
Montana was not as flamboyant as the other Quarterbacks in the league but he was the most effective. The constant team player that he was, Montana would take pay cuts to get or keep the players they needed to win.
Montana will not be in record books for passing yards or touchdown passes, he wasn't even a scrambler. But he was accurate, he stayed cool, and won games.
He has 4 Superbowl wins........and yes it's true, so does Bradshaw, and both Aikman and Brady has 3.
But this is why Montana is the greatest.
Montana has 8 Pro bowls......Aikman has 6, Brady has 4, and Bradshaw has 3.
Montana has 2 League MVP's.....Bradshaw has 1, and both Aikman and Brady has 0.
Montana has 3 Superbowl MVP's...Bradshaw and Brady has 2, and Aikman has only 1.
Sure Brady is still young but here is a stat that Montana has that Brady can never get.
Remeber I said Montana had ice in his veins. In the 4 Superbowls Montana played in, Montana threw " NO INTERCEPTIONS " talk about showing up for the big game huh.
And yes some will still say that Marino and Elway was better because of all the records they hold. But in thier Superbowl match ups against Montana...Montana won both.

Football is all about the W's. When it came time to step up and win the damn game, nobody was ever better than Joe Montana. The only other QB's I ever saw anywhere near his level were Elway and Bradshaw, but Joe was hands down the best.

Brett Favre. Hands down. After this season he will own every major QB record, and unlike Dan Marino he has won a Superbowl. Plus he is the only 3-time MVP in NFL history
and he has started every game for the pack since 92'. What makes that even more amazing is the fact that every other QB (besides Peyto Manning) has been hurt.

Brett Favre. He is going to break every record Marino has left (except total yards if he retires after this season). He is THE ONLY 3 time NFL MVP. This means regardless of how his team was surrounding him, he was the best player in football for 3 straight years. Nobody else holds that title.. The only player I can think of that will break that MVP streak isn't even a Quarterback. It's Ladanian Tomlinson, running back for the Chargers.

Marino. He has all those records. Yea he doesnt have any rings but the team he played on sucked. Montana had the guys around him to be a success like Lott and Rice. If anyone says Brady will be go back and watch those superbowls. The kicker won the superbowl for them all three times.
