I was never notfied about any public auction (time or date). I was not given anything in writing or verbal or certification by mail or in person. What can I do to recover my loses due to the storage company actions.

I would go with someone and approach the office manager, and ask for proof that you were notified. When they show you something, if it is not your signature, I would then tell them you are going to file in small claims court.

However, you had better have a complete inventory, with pictures of the contents, you can't just say you had this or that, you must prove it.

First thing to remember is that you MUST keep your payments current, the day after they notify you they can post an ad in the paper announcing the lien and then set up an auction.

Small Claims Court will be the easiest route. For about $20 you can sue for $5,000. Hope that will cover your cost....If not, check with the State Attorney General's Office. .

You would need to sue the company in civil court, probably small claims court.

You would need to establish (prove via evidence) that they did not follow the proper procedure as set forth by law.
