The Cubs are the hottest team in baseball right now and its about DAMM time that they started playing this well. However the teams I feel that the Cubs have and probably will continue to struggle with is the Eastern Division. Other than the Nationals, the Cubs are below .500 against the National League East. They can hold off Atlanta but the Phillies, Marlins and especially the Mets have owned the Cubbies the past few seasons.
Another problem the Cubs will face is games in California.. especially Southern California, the Cubs haven't won a series in Southern California since 2002. if the Cubs win the NL Central they're going to have to face either the Padres or the Dodgers in the division series.
The Cubs have done well in the NL Central but its the East Coast and West Coast (especially SoCal) teams that will decide if the Billy goat curse will finally die.

Are the Cubs hot? Absolutely, but lets not Get carried away! Every team has it's up and downs in a long season. The fact of the matter is that the Cubs should be winning, they play in a bad division and should be bolstering their record by beating up on the Pirates and the Reds. Now that the Brewers have come back to earth, the winner of the central will be just like last year, barely over .500. But in the mean time, let's enjoy the Cubbies streak with our feet planted on the ground!

The Cubs are playing well. I think they will win their division, though this will be just as much due to their playing as it will be the imminent collapse of the Brewers.
I don't know if they can beat the Mets, Padres, Dodgers, or Diamondbacks, however. We'll know more when we're closer to the end of the season.
At the moment, the Braves do seem to be hotter than the Cubs. If the Braves keep playing like they have been recently, it will be very hard to bet against them.
I just noticed that mlbrankings.net has the Cubs rated #5 in the NL as of last week, and is ranking them ahead of the Brewers.

Thank you Doom Tints the Braves are a whole lot better than Cubs right now. I don't know how hot they have been, but the braves have won 12 out of the last 16. The Braves will beat them easily.

Well, the Pirates took 2 out of 3 from them just last week. So that's at least one team that can beat them.
