Trade #1

I get: Chase Utley
He gets: Dan Uggla and Chone Figgins

Trade #2

I get: Chase Utley
He gets: Dan Uggla and Julio Lugo

Are either of these trades fair? If so, which one(s) and why? He needs SB's, so I am trying to give him a guy with SB's to go with Uggla.

10 points to most in-depth answer

Thanks!

Or should I just stick with Uglla and not try to get Utley at all?

And to baseballchamp 321, yes I did ask this again. And thats because some of it's new and some of it's old. Also, I had to ask it again because answers like your's don't help any.

The first option isnt a good one...you give up a solid 2nd sacker (ave. sucks but other numbers are very good at 2nd base) plus Figgins who not only has above average ability to produce fantasy wise (.300 hitter with big SB potential and a run scoring machine) but also has the added bonus of being a fantasy multi-positional player. If he will bite on trade #2 then it is a more reasonable deal for you...just be sure to point out in your offer to him that Lugo seems to have taken the All Star break to get healthy mentally and has been stroking the ball since the break. See if that inspires him to deal but stay far away from making an Uggla and Figgins deal....if someone offered me that deal I would probably break my fingers hitting the accept trade button as fast as I could (love Utley and he is fantasy gold but getting 2 above average players in return is a steep price to pay especially when they can help you so much).

Alright lets see. In trade # 1 your giving away the hottest player in the month of june and the great young talent of uggla for a more powerful 2nd Baseman in Chase utley. Don't do it. Utley has the power #s but will give you some strikeouts as well. In trade # 2 your giving away a player that should be in the minors right now (lugo) and uggla again. DO IT. You can afford to give up lugo. Utley is better than uggla but is not better than uggla and figgins combined. Do trade # 2.

Your getting the better end of the deal by far, no matter which one you pick. But if I was you I would do the second one. You said he wants SB well Julio Lugo has 24. Thats pretty good. Dan Uggla has only 2 SB but he is a real good player to have on your team. But you are getting Chase Utley. You're lucky. I do the 2 one definetly. It would work better.

With either trade you come out way ahead...Figgins is better than Lugo - but it's a tallest midget thing...the guy would do better to pick up Kaz Matsui off the waiver wire than take either of those - if he's up to either - give him Lugo and keep Figgins.

Figgins is the better bet this year to do something fantasy worthy of the two midgets, and Uggla is decent, with good power but a low batting average...but getting Utley is a huge advantage to you as he can rake and his power is higher than Uggla's. Getting the best player involved in a trade is usually the most important thing...with your roster space open one, you should look at Billy Butler for the Royals - he's really raking. And Philip Hughes is about to come back for the Yanks and has looked amazing in his rehab starts...cheap sources, potentially, for strikeouts and wins...

Trade #1 I would not do because Uggla is still solid and Figgins is a great SB threat who is on a good team. Trade #2 I would do-Lugo won't make a huge difference on your team and Utley is the best 2B. Also, you still have Figgins as a UTIL player who can back up what Lugo can.

Utley is awesome, and Uggla is Great, if yer goina do the Trade, then do the second one, either Uggla of Utley is really good though. Utley is kind of a Freak of nature, lol

and julio lugo is bating a weak weak .209

do trade number two. i think you will be giving him sb's, but not giving him to much talent. chone figgins was a runner up for the all star game. you will get a great deal and an all star and he will just get speed and some fielding.

I'd try and get him to take trade 2, because then with one deal you can kill his average.

I'd do either trade. Utley is way too good to pass up, and you get him at a bargain either way.

The first one, I thinking your giving a little too much. The second one your giving too little. Try to get him to accept trade #2 though.
