american cars are really not as bad as they used to be..... they are getting popular again since they are affordable and parts for them are very cheap..... anyway you have to admit that american companies have the truck market controlled.....

Its like somebody said...American automakers are beginning to step up again. Once upon a time, we had the best vehicles on earth, due to money and technology. Asian companies have totally advanced us in technology, and are close with the money. They are also playing smarter than the US companies are. For the time being.
We are entering a new era of car history right now. Modern muscle cars are on the rise, even with skyrocketing gas prices, as well and bigger & badder truck/SUV's. On the other end of the scale, we have some seriously economical vehicles on the rise, including hybrids and green machines (ethenol drinkers). We'll see where we stand in the next 5 years.

Until people stop buying Hummers and Escalades the big wheels at the top will continue to think thats what people want, because thats what they can afford, and people they know drive, and all the development money will keep going into big vehicles, imports arent as cheap as they used to be or as reliable, the gap is much less now mostly because all vehicles now are made with parts from everywhere. Toyota is the number 1 car company in the world now but do they have anything you want to buy?

any one would have to agree with that ,but its been that way for a while now,American car company's are making a come back but it takes time to gain it all back, they will never be where they was at in the 60,s we were no 1 in the car industry, then gas went high, and the foreign company's stepped in with a cure, the small car,now were catching up,but it takes twice as long to catch up as it does to loose anything, but yes foreign competition is hurting American sells right now, good luck hope this helps.

"Overrun"?? Not likely! Outsold, out produced and of poorer quality - yeah, definitely! Thanks for the two points!
