Black Walnut or (Janglans Nigra.) more commonly known as American Walnut.
It is known highly for its dark-colored heartwood. It is heavy and strong, yet easily split and worked. Walnut wood has historically been used for gunstocks, furniture, flooring, coffins, and a variety of other woodworking products.
