I don't care what you do but can you be honest about it.

It isn't possible to be totally honest. But, lots of men and women are honorable, which is actually more important than just honest. A person that is just honest, isn't necessarily honorable. A honest person could shoot you dead, they just wouldn't shoot you in the back. An honorable person just wouldn't shoot you.

How would you know it is an honest answer?

How do you judge honesty. The greatest barrier to a long term relationship is trying to please the potential partner by not voicing objection to character traits.

The honest man may hurt you with his candid opinion. But if he's man enough to find a solution then you may be safe.

I guess the answer to your question is you will know when you resolve problems in an amicable way create better understanding.

Oh yes, I am quite honest. That's why I've been single with no dates for 5 years.

For example, here's my dating profile:

Honesty also gets me a LOT of thumbs-down in Y!A

More on the topic of honesty and the sexes: In the realm of dating, to be successful, we all become salepersons. We want to present ourselves as a desirable package. Women have very high expectations of a partner and they want quite a bit from a relationship. Men will tend to exaggerate or misleed (sometimes even themselves) in order to make the cut. On the other hand, men have much fewer expectations in a partner. They want someone attractive to them who is not so psychotic that he will pull his hair out within a week. So women's sales jobs (some would say dishonesty) tend to be more visual than verbal - makeup, hair coloring, high heels, etc.

If there is an honest man, he has something to hide, so he must not be very honest. Every man, or woman has their own secrets, its how we pretray an image that is acceptable to the world we live in. And every good person has a dark side, just as every rich person has a ugly side. You have to hope for the best, and settle for what fits your needs.

You, like so many others--men and women--before you, are generalizing an entire group based on the actions of a few. There are honest men and women out there, and there are dishonest men and women out there.

Do not allow the actions of a few unscrupulous individuals to jade your perception of an entire group, in any situation. It will not be beneficial to you.

Yes, there are all sorts of honest men out there, but the majority of people tell lies on a daily basis, to anyone and everyone for alot of reasons. "You look nice." "Yes, I think your hairdo suits you." "Sure thing, Mr. Boss, I'm not doing anything this evening, I'd be happy to get it done."

Most lies are told to "keep the peace" within families, marriages, careers and to help them get along with everyone for whatever reason. You do care what they do or your question wouldn't be here.

How much honesty are we talking here? "I like you, but I screwed a hot model who wanted me." "I like 3 and 4 somes, you game?" "Yech, that hairdo makes you look like a poodle." "No, you're not really beautiful, just average." Or how about, "Sure, those make you look fat, gotta gym membership?"

Be careful of what you ask for.
