or as in my pay goes into my checking account and I have an ATM card, allowed?

or as in the state issued cards for child support accounts, and I have a card to withdraw child support from my account, allowed?

He can't really stop me. I mean, a boyfriend really has no say in the girlfriend's life, one. They're just dating, after all, they have they're own lives still. Two, without a credit card, the female will have a harder time shopping. And it's usually the female that goes out to buy the food, and some necessities around the house. I think it's stupid to think that the boyfriend should have THAT much say in the girlfriend's life. And I also think it would stupid to go form having a credit card while with your boyfriend, to not having a credit card while with your husband.

All 'N' all, this little 'idea' is quite ridiculous and it will never work. At least not in the U.S. of A

Have neither ( boyfriend/husband). I have over 15 credit cards. And when I finally settle down he will not be added to any of my credit cards. I will help him get his own. Some people even after knowing them are not responsible.

My father allows me to have a credit card, but it's only for purchasing gas and groceries for the family. I can't buy stuff for myself using that credit card, like cds and clothes, since that's what my own money is for.

There's no such thing as allow. It's not up to my man, it's up to the creditors. If a boyfriend took my card away from me, that would be THEFT. If my husband took my card away from me, well it hurts his credit as well as mine to have open cards that aren't being used. And he can't close them if I opened them in my name only.

ALLOW!?!?!?!?!

My husband and I have an equal relationship so there is no 'allowing' of any kind. We have joint cards and we each have a card of our own so we can make purchases for each other (Christmas, birthday etc...) w/o the other knowing the price.

Allow me?? Allow me? Are you kidding me? Allow me? Who are you anyway? Does your mother allow you to have a credit card, that is the question here.
