There are very few ugly people in this world, so I'm sure your wife isn't one. She's not stupid and she feels ugly because she knows you think that she is. Change your thinking and sincerely start believing she's beautiful and she may start feeling beautiful. Beauty is truly a state of mind. If you've been married to her for 40 years, she can't be ugly. A 40 year marriage has got to be beautiful. Good luck. 2D

Let her get a "makeover" at a place at the local salon and spa, at the shopping mall that has a "be glamorous" store that dresses you up, changes your hair and makeup and takes a picture of you afterwards. You can also go to or calla cosmetic counter at the malls or salons and ask for this. Usually the mall makeovers don't cost anything unless you buy any products. A salon can cut and color hair and apply makeups if you can ahead for an appointment. Take walks every chance with her and this will also get both of you in shape and you WILL start to look and feel better about her and herself. Joining a gym can help if you can afford it or have the time. This can also build confidence if she keeps up with it and finds a workout partner while there. HELLO if she is so ugly why have you been married 40 years? Maybe you should take a look at yourself, you should know after being with her beauty comes from within there is more to a present than just wrapping paper!

Hey, I'm sure your no Adonis either! As I've gotten older I'm not nearly as attractive as I used to be and neither is my hubby. But we love each other and we see each other through that love, not with our eyes anymore, thank god! When she says she is ugly, just tell her to stop saying that. That nobody, even she, talks about your wife like that whom you cherish and love dearly. Then, take her in your arms and give her a big ol' smooch right on the kisser and then squeeze her butt or whatever you like to squeeze! You can make her feel pretty if you care about her. Woo hoo!

What? How cruel. Why are you acting like this? If she is so ugly why have you stayed married to an ugly person for so long? Ugly, meaning personality wise, not just looks. I know a lot of ugly people, who on the outside are not. So, whats up? Go crawl under that rock again and stay there till you grow the hell up.

Praise her other qualities which make her beautiful as beauty is in the eye of the beholder and from within not external looks.
And if you believe she is ugly look at you, you married her and stayed for 40 years.

That does not sound very nice of you to say she is that could slip out of your mouth at anytime...but just so you know there is always something beautiful about a person it could be the smile, the personality, the way the talk or even walk so lets be serious whatever attracted her to you is still there all you have to do is look for it.

She hungers to be beautiful. She isnt blind or stupid. Dont insult her intelligence, or her vanity.
You would be amazed how glamor shots make a girl look younger and beautiful. Talk to one of her friends about how to get her to go to glamor shots.
Im thinking that if her friend goes, gets the picture, and is excited enough to tell your wife about it, and if the friend looks good in the picture, then you might be able to get your wife to go. So you go, get the shots, its beautiful.
When your wife comments on how beautiful it makes her look tell her "What are you telling me? I see that beautiful every day."
PS: some people on here are kids (like teenagers) who know nearly nothing of life, and love. Don't take their ignorance or rudeness personally. They are incapable of understanding where you are, because they have never been there.

Maybe think back to when you were First dating and redo that date from way back when. That would be very romantic and sweet. Why would you say your wife is ugly? Why did you marry her then if you thought that way? Shame on you!!!!

Well, its life,, some ugly some cute so on, sounds like she may need to go talk to someone about that, some people live that way, which aint good, just tell her,, say well to me your good looking woman im not a judge so I picked you didnt I... yup she may need expert help if this go's on and on.. good luck
