I just read Dark Ages America. It's a really good book and it talks about this. You should definitely read it. It'll answer your question in detail.
I think yes.

And just because 75% of people 25 and younger HAVE a Myspace account doesn't mean crap. I can tell you right now I've overheard on several occasions from high school students that they think Myspace is lame and don't use it. Also, it's as if you think that every single kid is brainwashed by mainstream rap. Sure, a lot of them are. However, there are a lot of teens who do not listen to rap and believe it's complete and utter sh*t (like myself). I love Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Disturbed... bands that actually sing about something more than nailing bitches and banging hos. This isn't a black-and-white scenario. Not everyone is one way or another. The way the younger generation is now is due to peer pressure and a yearning to fit in, and don't you dare tell me that YOUR generation was not subjected to peer pressure. Sure, you may have been pressured to like lighter things, things that don't necessarily involve AS MUCH violence or strong language. However, your generation was also affected by a need for rebellion (even if it was just a little compared to now). If you want your kids to have some other type of citizenship, go right on ahead. But don't think that the US is just going to shrivel and die just like that. It's going to be a while before any other country can really catch up money-wise.

I see you read, ty. Good question. During desert storm American tax payers paid to defend the Saudis. Now in Iraq American tax payers are paying to defend the Saudis oil market .. Euro dollars. ya think the American tax payers will ever wake up?
We now have a $9 trillion debt all ran up by Bush and the Republicans in Congress, over the next ten years. China gets cash from Wall-rip off mart and China uses that cash to buy our debt.

I remember people saying the same thing 40 years ago. And there were riots in the streets then so it seemed to have more creditability. No, I think today is pretty much normal. In other words there have always been problems. The past just looks better from a distance. And the future always looks uncertain because the future is always uncertain.

America is never in decline as long as comments as ours are allowed to be printed with out someone knocking on our doors within an hour. bondage is my fear.
i watched the history channel and money was being printed when there was no money to pay the solderers in the first American revolution. you can visit the south and see that the north and south still have a dislike to northerners coming to their towns to visit. lets fix us before we compare.
some times history repeats itself

I think America morality is declining. But at least 100 years ago people were saying the same thing, especially about our young people. As long as we hold our morals we will be alright. Good question.
