I'm thinking Lou Brock was faster. He did hold the all-time SB title once. Jackie didn't get to play long enough for anything like that.
Jackie was plenty fast, even if he really was out on that slide home in the World Series. Yogi blocked that plate--Jackie never even touched it. Don't believe me? Watch the film, naysayers!
Both men were fast, great ballplayers, and wholly deserving of their entrance into the Hall of Fame. . . .

During their major league careers, I would give the edge to Lou Brock. Jackie Robinson didn't start in the majors until he was nearly 30 years old (including two years in the military). Robinson played 10 years in the majors and Brock played 19. Jackie Robinson was; however, a track athlete at UCLA, so he may have developed more straight ahead speed. Brock had unbelievable base running instincts.

While I can't say for sure, as I never got the pleasure to see either play, Lou Brock has better speed numbers. Robinson did not get the chance to play long, so I feel career numbers would be a little deceiving. The most bases Robinson ever stole in one season was 37. Brock stole 118 one season.
Brock also averaged 9 triples a season, to Robinson's average of 6.

You are all answering the wrong question, "who IS faster?" not who WAS faster? Lou Brock is most definitely faster than Jackie as he is still alive and Jackie is not.
