I usually ignore them. I "gripe" about my weight on occasion and have no intention of giving up my Coca-cola, (but then I'm not seriously overweight--15 pounds, if that ) so I'm supposing some people do it just to have something to say.
If they're truly unhappy, they will do it, and they won't talk much about it. Funny how that works, huh?

Everybody eats more these days and does less. People don't have to do hard manual labor like 100 years ago.
People want the results of exercise which means weight loss, but most don't want to make the effort. Everyone wants a pill that makes one lose weight without having to change anything in their lives.

My sister-in-law
For as long as I've known her(9+ years), she has been saying that she's gonna lose weight, she's gonna lose weight, she's gonna lose weight-but she still hasn't. She has been acting kinda funny towards me since I actually DID lose all the weight like I said I was going to. Trying to tell me, now I ain't got an @$$ anymore and telling me I'm "too skinny".Yes the HELL I do! And since is still a bit over 200lbs "too skinny???" My booty is just a whole lot less than it used to be. I do NOT have the typical white girl "pancake buttitis." It still sticks out, and still keeps her brother's attention-and other dudes try to holla because of the badonkadonk. It's gone from a giant pumpkin, to a watermelon. It is still there.

yes, but its not limited to just weight. what bothers me is people who aren't accountable for their actions, and then complain about it. whether its relationship problems when they make the same mistake over and over, or money problems when they wont get a job or spend everything they get, or weight problems when they wont get off the couch, its all annoying.

not all of the weight problem is around their waist
some of it is in their heart, mind, motivation, outlook, environment.
addiction is addiction no matter the source
some are just not politically correct
some can't do the journey alone

Yes, it is such a boring subject to talk about when you don't have the problem. It's just as boring to talk to people who are on a diet.

Not as much as when people who look thin complain about their weight.
