The summer holidays are approaching and I as wondering whether anyone can recommend any Physics books which I could read over the break? I have only done my AS so far, so if you know of any books I won't find hard to understand, please tell me!

Find out what book will be used in the first physics course you plan to take an buy it early. I would suggest looking through the whole book to whatever depth you want to spend the time on. Since you're going to study the material in more depth later anyway, concentrate on basic concepts and the mathematical procedures used. That way, you can then listen to lectures with greater comprehension, and pick up the nitty gritties needed to do the problem sets and tests less stressfully.

these probably won't help much for your studies but they are very good informational books. i think one of them on the all time best sellers list. Both are by stephen hawkins. the universe in a nutshell & a brief history of time.

Do yourself a favour, buy "Asimov's New Guide to Science," he has a way of teaching that is unique, you will find yourself continually rereading prior sections, eventually you will understand what you are in need of knowing.
