I've gotten a 3 year Transmission, engine, seals and gaskets warranty...good?

He says his mechanic is going to tune it up, change oil, all the necesseties...Should I trust them? Its already included.

What do I do next?

Before I sign anything, is this when I take it to a mechanic?

It drives great but there is something squeaking, on the passenger's back wheel. (it happens if the car "bounces")
I asked him and he said it was when a car rests for too long or is old (something happens....axis....i don't know lol sorry i don't remember) some plastic starts to make noise (above the wheel) I asked him will how much will it take to replace it, and he said $100- $150, I said how long will it be in repair and he said 45 minutes max!

....Should he be paying for this? Should I tell Him I'm not signing not a s*hit until he fixes it?

What about gas? Should he be giving me a full tank of gas?

HELP!!!!

When and if you're approved, you'll get a call from the Dealer saying, "OK..it's your car; come and get it." A three year warranty is good - in writing (never trust anyone who offers a verbal guarantee without backing it in writing!)

I'd try to find out why it needs to be tuned, lubed and oil changed; I would think that should have been done before they allowed a test drive.

I would at least take a mechanic with me when I went (have it checked thoroughly before signing, or at least tell the salesman that the sale is contingent upon a mechanical check at a mechanic of your choosing).

The "squeaking" noise may well be only a splash shield above the axles; on the other hand it could also be a more expensive repair (like struts, or shocks, or some other major suspension component - I'd have it checked by the mechanic before signing anything). I would insist that the salesman either pays for the repair (get a written guarantee that he will do so) or have him get the repair done before signing. Why should you pay $100 - $150 after you've already spent nearly $ 12,000?

He is not obligated to fill the tank. Good luck!

First of all, this car hasn't built a good reputation for reliability, witness your 3 year old replacement drivetrain.

You should take it to a mechanic now, have it inspected by a Mercedes dealer or reliable independent shop. They'll read the fault codes as well as doing a physical inspection. Once you hand him the check, it will be too late.

Squeeking above the wheel could be nothing or something, can't tell without an inspection. I wouldn't trust his mechanic to tune it or even change the oil...when I buy a used car, I assume that 100% of fluids and filters will need to be changed, no matter what the owner tells me. Especially so in the case of a recent MB, because the engine demands synthetic oil and nothing else. Other than fluids and filters, tune up is BS on this motor. All it ever needs is plugs every 100K, and at $400 to change the spark plugs, you can bet he won't be doing that to cinch the sale. Ask him to lower the price, and not give you that stuff. Don't make gas an issue, there are many things much more important.

The squeaky rear wheel is probably caused by worn out shocks. At this mileage, it is expected. Typically, you change them in pairs, but in this case, probablly all 4 needs replacement. Estimate about 1000 dollars for the whole job.

Plastic part above the dash? Make sure the part is available.... Some parts are available only as part of the larger assembly. You may not be able to just buy that small piece.

Gas? It's insignificant. It doesn't make or break your deal either way.

My recommendation is to have it inspected by a third party mechanic and YOU PAY for the inspection. That way, the mechanic owes you to find faults, not the other way around.

Be aware, you are buying 9 year old car that originally cost about 50K dollars US. When you buy such cars, and when it needs maintenance, it will cost you like 50K car, not the 10K you paid for it.

This was the first year for the ML 320 its built in the USA, some of these vehicles were not great reliability wise. Read the fine print on the warranty, to keep the warranty valid you have to have proof you performed all the needed maintenance. I would have my own mechanic inspect this vehicle and then I would run out and buy a used Toyota.
