the thinkpad is from the early to mid 90's and i would love to find a way to connect it to a wireless internet souce

I presume this model does not have a built in network connector. If it has such all you need to do is turn it on and configure it.

If it does not have the built in, purchase a wireless pcmcia adapter card. It slides in the pcmcia slot and after you configure it you are in business.

You'll need a Wireless Card for the old laptop. You must buy the right type that the router supports. Good Luck
