My friend and I do some DJ'ing so we got a wireless broadband internet card for his laptop so we can download requests if need be. It works fine. His laptop is pretty nice, runs on Win XP, plenty RAM, Disk Space, quick processor and so forth. Here is my Question: Is there a program he can download that will enable it to work as GPS Navigation for when we are on roadtrips??? I mean, its no biggie if it cant because we can always just use yahoo maps or mapquest or whatever, but a computer is a very powerful thing and I told him "I'm sure there's some way to do it!" but then I didnt really know where to look. So I'm posting this question, then I'm going to go look while yall answer it. That way maybe someone will mention something i hadn't found. :)

GO!

Staples or Office Depot sold GPS kits for Notebooks - they were on sale for about 70 bucks a few weeks ago. They came with a GPS unit you plugged into the notebook's USB port and mapping software. The software "spoke" to you and everything - just like a regular GPS unit that costs $300 or so.

Wireless is wireless overall, frequencies can differ a bit but just a normal b or g card will do here in Europe. You can get them here as well, they aren't that expensive anymore. Cheers

Depends on the Wireless card.

The wireless card is also the GPS receiver. If your card does that, then all you need is the manufacturer software. If not, then you can also buy a USB GPS receiver and go from there.

Short story is, you have to have a GPS receiver, be it your wireless card, and USB receiver or other type to make it happen.
