Well, it looks like Roger Conner was the home run king before Babe Ruth was. He had 138 home runs in his career. But then on the 18th of July in 1921 Babe Ruth came along and dominated Roger Connor's record for home runs. Babe Ruth ended up with 714 home runs. That means Babe Ruth beat Roger Connor by 586 home runs. Babe Ruth rocks!

Looks like Roger Conner had the most career home runs in 1920 with 138 and was taken over by Ruth during the 1921 season
