I know that cobalt II means that it's Co with a 2+ charge, and sulfate is SO4 with a 2- charge, but is cobalt II sulfate heptahydrate CoSO4 x 7H2O?
what is heptahydrate?!?!?!?!?

A bit more detail than the other answers.

Cobalt sulfate is a chemically bonded salt, in this case, ionic bonding.

A hydrate is when molecules of water are physically trapped inside the cell structure, like a prisoner in a cage. The wate is physically bonded, not chemically. Usually, heating the hydrate salt will "liberate" the trapped water and it escapes. This salt is then called Anhydrous. If left standing in the open, it eventually reabsorbs moisture from the air and becomes a hydrate again.

Co II sulfate heptahydrate is a salt of Co II, at which you have coordinated 7 molecules of water, for every molecule of salt

First, find the difference in the mass of the heptahydrate and the mononhydrate. Then, divide that value by 6. With the value you've divided, subtract it from the mass of the monohydrate. I think so.
