Goethe: male author who educates men about women : : female author who educates women about men: [?]

I'm aware that some who answer may want to dispute my premise that Goethe is such. Before doing so, though, I would hope these answerers have had the sense to have read at least a few of the poems he wrote while in Strasburg.

* Hax A, I think it best you stay away from books. You might hurt yourself.

*On second thought, after reading some of your answers, HAX, I would throw a few Harry Potter books to you from outside that vacuum in which you have chosen to dwell.

Hi Vonhiggins,
These"poems", also express Goethe's,deeply felt convictions, about the relationship of the female ideal.. to art and science....

Well, .. My favorite is : ~ Shaunti Feldhahn ~ : "For Women Only" ....

~Margaret Fuller~

But what I think personally is .. You learn more about both genders... with "communication", people do that not often enough, these days!! .. rather a pity, isn't?!

Thanks, for the question! :)

My regards!

I think that married couples will do what is necessary to ensure they have the happiest lives. My wife works and I do not. I am better educated than her, but it doesn't really matter. Our oldest daughter is mentally handicapped to the point where she is immobile. My wife is a petite woman and does not have the physical strength to care for her any more. I however, can, so I stay home and care for our daughter. Other than placing our daughter in a home for the handicapped we don't have any other options. We want to keep our family whole, so I do what I have to do. I made more money than she does prior to us trading places. I don't think that roles are reversing, I just think that the standard roles are changing to suit a modern world. 60 years ago when much fewer wives were working the health-care advances to keep my daughter alive did not exist. My daughter would not be alive. I think we live in a time where versatility in all aspects of life are necessary for happiness. I would rather be out making the money, not going to lie, but I have a duty to my family.

Hello vonhiggins...just me again. Thought poor Hax may need a little strafing fire as a distraction...

At first blush I'd say Ayn Rand. Or perhaps Elizabeth Barrett Browning?

Or, my personal favorite...Camille Paglia.

PS: The answer better not be Dr. Ruth!

To be honest, I've never seen anyone wishing they knew more about men. Don't know why. Guess men are supposedly easy to understand.

But I've never heard of Goethe, either.
