Ooooh. I want to blow my smoke in your face so bad right now.

If you'd like a sore face, try it. Other than that, why don't YOU just avoid smokers?

EDIT: Should we have to take being called "idiots" by people who asked idiotic questions in the first place? Get your brain into action before you put your mouth into gear and think the question over before submitting it.

Scottman.2003 - Great answer. I'm off the cigs two years and the booze five (couldn't handle the hangovers) but I totally agree with you.

Edit 2: Just been reading over the answers and some of you want to get a grip. I can understand people thinking that the ACT of smoking is evil - but NOT the people who smoke. Hope you remember your remarks a few years down the line when things YOU enjoy are being taxed to the hilt because the government is no longer getting BILLIONS into the coffers from SMOKERS.

Should we as non drinkers be allowed to take away a drink from drinkers?

If they are drinking around children or yourself? I think so. I do not want my kids to think that drinking alcohol is a normal way of life, nor do I want those that are drinking to get in a car and drive as so many do. Unless they want to pay my medical bills or funeral cost after they kill me or somebody else.

See how that works?
I don't drink nor smoke. But I will fight to the death to support your right to drink or smoke if you so choose. Just like I have the choice to leave a place where these things are going on where it is perfectly legal to do these things.

No. The law is pretty clear that you only have the right to use force when to defend yourself. Your first course of action however is to run away whenever possible. The only exception is in your personal domicle.
If you decide to physically remove a cigarette from someone, you are going to be charged with assualt.

Only if non drivers are allowed to slash your tires since they also dont want emphysema,

All these things people mentioned also affect your children. Their chances of dying are many times higher traveling in an automobile than from them actually smoking a pack a day. So if you are so concerned than be concerned abiout everything, not just the things you find distatseful.

should we as non-drinkers be able to take a drink away from drinkers? If they are drinking around children or yourself? I don't want to risk getting hit by a drunk driver, or have some dangerous drunk around my children.

what about SUV drivers?, i might get sick from the extra smog they are producing, and if they hit me they will do more damage to my little car.

people who talk on the phone and drive?

why stop at smoking?, lets just take everyones rights away!

No- in some cases that could be considered assault.
If these evil smokers are on your property, you can tell them to abstain...in the public, just keep walking.

As a magority smokers do not think of those around them and are rude. The new laws are doing away with smokers.

No. It is still there right. I have asthma that is irritated by cigarrette smoke. It sucks sometimes, but I'm not going to to take the cig away from them.

You're entitled to tell people what to do or not do in your own home. If you try to take a cigarette away from a smoker away from your own home, don't be surprised when they respond to your initiation of force with force of their own.
