when it comes to terrorism, yet have no problem buying into Al Gore's "fear mongering" tactics when it comes to the highly suspect and controversial theory of global warming?

i totally see where you're coming from, but those things are on a much different scale.

al gore made a film and gives presentations to spread awareness. and while he does attempt to manipulate an opinion, it's not out of malice. global warming is an issue and some take it more seriously than others.

the bush administration encapsulated the country in a bubble of total information control. it's not so much what fox or cnn tell us, it's what they don't tell us. they choose to pick out facts and figures to keep the american people at bay. and it's not just this administration, but every administration. it's been happening time and time again throughout history. the roman empire, the french revolution, he american civil war, the nazi rise in germany, etc.

so why am i alright with al gore and not bush? well because with al gore i have the choice whether or not i want to listen to him. with bush, most people don't have that choice. the common american doesn't know how to detect propaganda, and therefore is easily manipulated.

the fact of the matter is, we're all brainwashed into one side or the other.

Fear mongering by the Bush administration is a ruse to support an unjust and uncalled for war. They are using nefarious means to promote a situation that was originally brought on through more fear tactics in order to justify an invasion and rationalize their substandard conscience into acceptance.
There is no fear mongering but a call to awareness in regards to global warming. Global warming is/was not a deliberate and calculated endeavor created intentionally to deceive Americans into an emotional and reactionary war based on lies and sabotage. Every citizen on this planet can become involved in a positive and bonding effort without loss of life and the maiming of society in a reasonable and logical project to improve all life and civilization. Regardless of income, regardless of race, regardless of political affiliation we can come together and do some good that will be respected by history and valued by our future.

Just as 'conservatives' are ready to believe the worst of Gore and the best of Bush, 'liberals' are ready to believe the best of Gore and the worst of Bush.
'Fear-mongering tactics' are the Hitleresque kind of lies, distortions, fabrications, and propaganda Bush used to deceive the American people, its Congress, and its soldiers into unconstitutionally, illegally, unjustifiably and immorally attacking another nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
If you believe that global warming theories are highly suspect and controversial, I would respectfully submit that the preponderance of the world's scientific community disagrees with you. Al Gore has not used 'fear mongering tactics' to flagitiously scare people into permitting the invasion of another country all for the sake of OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. He presents factual information based on scientific evidence to warn the world about the potential dangers we face.
Burying your head in the sand about Bush's atrocities that have killed 675,000 Iraqis and almost 4,000 U.S. soldiers will not clear anyone's conscience.
Burying your head in the sand about Gore's intelligent warnings won't stop global warming from destroying our coasts and permanently damaging the world in which your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will have to live.
This isn't a "liberal-conservative thing' - this is about the distinct difference between a corrupt and evil war and a serious threat to our planet's future. -RKO- 07/15/07

Global warming is highly suspect and controversial? Read a real science journal sometime instead of some pop science lit. Global warming isn't a political subject, the environment is something we should all take care of.

As for terror. He has blatantly manipulated the American public with fear and grossly mishandled the war on terror.

Fear mongering is fear mongering regardless of your political persuasion or agenda.

Of course it's too bad that Bush's War on Terrorism hasn't been as well executed as his War on the Environment.

If they get upset.
Then come up with a better mouse-trap.
Why get upset without a solution?
Upset is not a solution.
Children were crying out there.
Waiting for the solution.
Just pack the bags and check out of "Hotel California" is not the solution.
Children want the third wave of Liberation of Freedom for the good of mankind with peace on earth goodwill to men.

When Al Gore spends a trillion (yep..a trillion) dollars of our tax money and has thousands of soldiers killed in the name of global warming, we'll get upset.
