When I looked it up, one of the colleges gave the salary range for veterinary assistants at $14, 450-$21,350, and the salary range for veterinary technicians at $19,200 to $27,900. That would lead me to believe that the two are NOT the same thing. Also, I found that veterinary technicians can be registered, while assistants are unregistered.
