Are you kidding? I have a mostly dead fern hanging on my patio. It's there because the doves use it for nesting every year. 6 healthy babies so far, 2 didn't make it. It's about 3 feet from the sliding glass door and the house is elevated making it about head high when you're inside. It's a trip watching the young one hatch and grow, watching the parents feed them. It's always kind of fun, I have a bird friendly backyard.

No, I would wait until the birds had flown the nest, unless the tree was a large one and about to fall on the house.

I wouldn't want to cut a tree down at all, they are magnificent things, most will live far longer than I will. I might cut branches off but not if there was a nest in it.

I have a nest on the ront and back of my house. last year I thought it was eventually empty and blasted it with the hose. well out dropped a baby bird and I had to hand rare it and feed it every 2 hours. what a nightmare.
