It is leaking everytime I turn it on, but the wierd thing is the leaking water is coming from under my house's siding. Do I need to turn my water off from in my crawl space to fix it? Thanks!

its spelled spigot...and you have one that is made so it wont freeze up in the winter.it basically is just a longer spigot that has the packing towards the rear.it can be rebuilt but ive found it easier to just replace it.youll need a couple pipe wrenches and some pipe sealing compund.easy fix in less than an hour

This is serious. Stop using that valve immediately. The valve is likely one of the freezless type. And even though they are not supposed to freeze, they will. This means that every time you turn it on you are probably getting water under your home or in the basement. Call a plumber or handyman and get it fixed. This is a repair that many homeowners do not want to do themselves. If you have ran the water much you will need to have you crawlspace pumped out to eliminate the pool of water. I pumped 2000 - 3000 gallons of water from under a house that had this same problem.

You can usually see the leak if you go in your crawl space and have someone turn on the valve while you are down there.

Yes, you need to turn off the water supply to the spigot. You either have a leak where the unit screws into the supply line, it froze and broke or it is a frostfree faucet and the seal is bad. Most likely a bad connection at the supply line.

yes you have to stop the leak, which appears to be in the line before the 'spigot".
