comfort...but if its a kid screaming at the top of their lungs then i would say a little of both.
In the end
Comforting = making a person stop crying

Most deffinitly comfort them. I don't like to see anyone cry, even if I think it is a lame reason, obviously whatever it is, affected the crying person different. I would comfort. Seeing another hurting or upset isn't a pleasant thing. Now if it is a child pouting and crying to get their way, well I don't like to see that and it can be annoying, but again, comforting is probubly my way, not giving in but comforting and talking about a better way to go about getting ones way. It's just never good to see anyone cry unless it is crying out of happiness

Should never try to make them stop it will become a disaster and there is a good possiblity that the person might throw the anger at you.

Comfort them and let them cry a little bit and gradualy stop the cry.

This might not apply for a person who cries all the time though.

It all depends on why they are crying.Sometimes we all need a good cry.And it is true that most people feel somewhat better after a good cry. Then there are the Drama Queens...these are the ones you want to have stop ASAP ! If someone were to be crying for a reason ,then I'd want to sooth them and comfort them.

Depends on who they are, how much I care about them and why they are crying.

There are other options too. Laughing at them, walking away, ignoring them.

I don't like being manipulated, and tears are often a manipulation device. Do that with me, and you will not like the results.

Men usually want it to stop as soon as possible. A very very sensitive man might be a comforter.

I am a comforter. I want to comfort them. It's how I am. I also
would want the same for myself. I have met a few people who did not want to be comforted. I thought it was strange. Maybe it was attention they sought but not mine. But still I try to comfort anyone who will accept it.

i would like to comfort them first but sometimes some people want to cry. i would not want to impose my thoughts and feelings on to them so i would create a space for them to feel comfortable and safe crying if they felt the need to continue. I would also let them know that i am there for them if they need anything.
