As a NYer I will say Giuliani did a tremendous job on 9/11 and took up the slack where our national leadership left off. However should NY be attacked again that distinction would go to Bloomberg and Giuliani would be left in the cold with little clout for his presidential platform.

even if he doesn't , he's got a lot of experience in the disposal of evidence before it can can be independently examined -- so he need not be idle.
