Because he is the great decider and he gets off on a power trip. He does not want his authority compromised and he thinks he has accountibility to no one for his actions.

no because of the fact the workplace of the president provides him the authority to be commander in chief and not congress it is the regulation of the land. Congress voted to start up the conflict in Iraq so because it is likewise criminal, the info are the info. each administration has fired human beings so which you may not single out in basic terms President Bush, back yet another certainty. there have been different circumstances proposed for submit conflict in iraq so it won't be able to be mentioned that each physique the generals agreed on one course. there have been blunders made in this conflict as with the different conflict however the long and in need of it incredibly is that there is not any way that we can lose in Iraq different than if congress cuts off investment for it.

You assume that it's just Bush whos responsible for managing the war. You're forgetting the DOD. There is several layers to the problem. How do you actually fight a war without it being political manuevering at home? I'm afraid of the politicians trying to make hay on this and the danger it represents to everyone actually involved in the conflict. I'm glad my family members are rotating home now, as I fear political rangling could get have gotten them killed. I don't believe giving a body of government who's approval rating lower than said president will make it better either.

It's hard to believe Bush is mismanaging the war, when we're acheiving our objectives. Sure, not everything's happening right away, and some projects are taking longer than expected, but we're defeating terrorists in other countries, destroying their training grounds, and killing or capturing top Al Quada leaders.

So don't tell me the war is mismanaged, especially if you don't have intimate knowledge of all the circumstances.

Because a war cannot be managed by a committee of 535 people. Especially, a committee with a lower approval rating than the president.

Assuming you are speaking of naming a pull-out date.........
what opposing enemy wouldn't have enough brains to say, "why are we fighting now? Let's just lay low until the US pull-out date arrives, then just simply take back what we want?"

If congress micro-manages the war, that is exactly where they are heading, a specific named pull-out date. For all who have served in Iraq, for all who have given their lives.......that's beyond disrespect to simply walk out.

Micro managing the Iraq war is would be exactly what they did during the Vietnam war. Costing us 51,000 lives and loss of a free country.

It's just an excuse he loves to use to keep Congress from exercising its Constitutionally mandated oversight of the executive branch.
