Officially they Raiders have stated they will be starting Walter and having Russell at #2 so that he can have time to develop and learn the system same would go for McCown. Whether they staysat #2 for the whole season or if the Raiders do what Tennessee did last year by moving Young to #1 and Collins to #2, and put Russell in as the starter after 5 games, no one knows.

Maybe during the first 4 games it'll be McCown, but if the team starts losing again the'll plug in Russell right away, You don't use the number 1 overall pick on a player and not have him play at all. They have a young defense that's really good that'll keep them in most games and be around for years to come, so you know what, let the kid play and make all his mistakes this year. He will first have to show he knows the offense and be in rythem with his players, but nothing beats experience in the NFL, and the sooner he plays the better becuase it'll make him a better QB in the long run. Peyton Manning struggles during his rookie experience, but the experience of the game speed, defenses, pre snap reads etc.. helped him be a better QB in the future. So like I said, if (by some fluke) the raiders manage to win games early, they'll keep McCown in because he's a veteran QB over Walter, but if theyt start struggling, it'll be time to see what Jamarcus Russell can provide for the future.

well they don't want a david carr thing to happen like they don't want Russell to be sacked 80 times as a rookie and get shell shocked and suck. So start McCown until they fix the offensive line and then let Russell come in and lead them to another horrid season because no matter what they suck

The Yahoo! Sports depth chart lists the quarterbacks as followed:
1. JaMarcus Russell
2. Andrew Walter
3. Josh McCown
I don't know if that's the exact way they'll start in the season, but that's they're roster's order.

JaMarcus Russle. Why would the raiders waste a draft pick if they won't even start him this season! Besides, the rest of there quartbacks aren't very good. If they don't start Jamarrcus, they should have drafted somebody that definetly start like calvin johnson becasue they need help fast!

JaMarcus Russell. Usually teams will wait to start rookie quarterbacks but with their lackluster QB's, it'll definately be Russell.
