I'm leaning towards a prepaid mastercard but every site that i've been on for them says that even if my parents buy the card for me i'm nto allowed to use it because i'm only 14 (the age for most of the cards is 16+) any reccomendations for a different way not to carry to much cash or some different types of prepaid( from canada, i live in newfoundland)

Have a debit card from your own bank, and make sure there is enough money in the account.
You will need parental permission to get the card, but nobody will be surprised when you use it. All our teens use their debit cards to get money.
Nobody but American tourists use traveler cheques and they are harder to change for cash all the time, besides you need to proof who you are and if you look young you may also have to proof that you are allowed to change them.

If you carry a credit card getting money out of the wall (ATM's) might be more expensive, check with your bank, and paying with a credit card when you look obviously under 18 might be more of a problem too, as our youngsters do not carry them.

I expect you not to travel alone at 14, in that case you might be better of to have an adult in the group take care of your money.

travel cheques, and you can get at least maestro card account (you can also pay with it and withdraw money from ATM, the only difference is that it takes money down immediately so you cant go in limit) Ask in your bank, they should have such option for students as well.

Use a debit card tied to your account, there are tons of debit machines in Europe, the exchange rates are regular bank rates.
